In the rest of this article, we will teach you how to thoroughly clean Android phones. This should be repeated at least once a week.
Your mobile phone is usually with you everywhere. Many people even carry their mobile phones with them to the toilet or kitchen, and as a result, these devices usually come into contact with various surfaces, some of which are really contaminated!
This problem is so serious that recent research has shown that mobile phones can be ten times more contaminated than toilet stones! So if you clean your bathroom every day, you should do the same for your mobile phone.
The method of cleaning mobile phones is almost the same regardless of whether you use a waterproof device or not. In this regard, mobile phone users are advised to clean it once a day normally and once a week.
On the other hand, considering that mobile phones are electronic devices, you must be extremely careful while cleaning them; Because a small mistake in this field can damage the ports or other parts and cost you a lot.
What is the basic cleaning method of Android phones?
Before cleaning the Android phone, be sure to disconnect all its chargers and cables, and after removing the case and its accessories, turn off the device.
The best tool you can use to clean your phone is a microfiber cloth. While cleaning the surface of the phone, this tissue does not cause any damage to it.
Pay attention that both normal napkins and towel napkins may leave scratches on the screen of the device!
If you don’t have a microfiber cloth, you can also clean your phone using the cleaning cloths for the camera lens.
To start, run the tissue gently over the surface and back panel of the device and wipe them clean. Be careful not to put too much pressure on your phone at this stage.
To improve performance, you can also slightly wet the wipe with purified or distilled water. Note that excessive wetting of the tissue may damage the electronic components inside the phone.
To completely disinfect your cell phone, most brands recommend using an alcohol-based solution consisting of 70% alcohol or isopropylene.
Never pour distilled water or alcohol directly on the surface of the phone and instead use wet wipes to clean different parts of the device.
If you really want to disinfect your phone, you can also use UV light. This will destroy all the germs on the surface of the phone and make it completely sterile!
Do not forget to clean the speaker and ports!
In addition to cleaning the surface of the Android phone, cleaning the ports and holes of the speaker is also very important. For example, the charging port and the headphone jack (if your phone has a headphone jack) along with the speaker and microphone holes are very important and are often overlooked.
Naturally, daily cleaning of these holes will waste a lot of time. However, make sure that you clean these holes from time to time so that the accumulation of dirt and grime does not interfere with the performance and contaminate the device excessively.
While cleaning each of these holes, you may be tempted to use a metal needle to remove the dust inside them. However, you should know that doing this may cause permanent damage to your phone; Because metals are conductors of electricity and mobile phones are electronic devices!
Instead of metal needles, we recommend using a wooden toothpick to remove dust and dirt accumulated in the cavities of the device. To do this, insert the tip of the toothpick into the cavity and rotate it to remove the debris.
Be careful not to insert the toothpick into the cavity too much, and secondly, rotate it around the cavity.
After doing this, put the toothpick on a piece of cloth or napkin and repeat the process again. Do this until all the dirt inside the cavity is removed.
At this stage, you must be very careful that the toothpick does not get stuck inside the cavity so that pulling it out will damage the internal pins.
In addition, if there is still dust around the holes after cleaning, you can clean it with a tissue.
What should not be done while cleaning the Android phone?
Using acid-based cleaners can clean bacteria and germs on the surface of the phone; But at the same time it will cause damage to the glass.
In addition, some screens use an oleophobic or anti-grease layer on the surface, which prevents fingerprints. If acid is used to disinfect the surface of the phone, the performance of this layer may be affected.
Also, vinegar and bleach-based cleaners or industrial glass cleaners and hand and body disinfectants are also among the materials that should not be used to clean mobile phones.
Many premium or even mid-range Android phones have obtained the IP68 standard and are resistant to moisture penetration. This issue does not mean that they can be washed under water or cleaned with soap!
Therefore, you should be careful that even if your phone is waterproof, you should avoid directly spraying water or any other liquid on the device.
Also, if your phone gets too wet during the cleaning process, dry it with a microfiber towel and wait for a few hours until the water in it evaporates completely. Only in this condition can you plug it in and charge it again.
Another item that you should definitely avoid while cleaning your Android phone is using an air compressor, especially around the speakers and ports of the device.
High pressure air can cause more of the dust to sink into the cavity instead of throwing it out and even block the cavities!
Do not forget the back cover and the phone case
Thorough and basic cleaning of the mobile phone can be considered a very positive thing. However, if you use a dirty case on your phone, all your efforts will be in vain and soon, the phone will be dirtier than before!
Note that most likely, the frame of your phone is more contaminated than the phone itself; Because the frame is usually in direct contact with contaminated surfaces and absorbs the most mass and dirt.
Of course, mobile phone frames are made of different materials such as plastic, rubber, silicone and leather, each of which has a specific method for cleaning.
If the back cover of your phone is made of rubber, silicone or plastic, after initial cleaning with a microfiber cloth, put it in a solution of water and dishwashing liquid.
In the next step, use an old toothbrush to clean its different parts.
Some cases use an internal microfiber layer that prevents the outer surface of the phone from being scratched. If your frame uses this layer, avoid submerging it in water and instead clean the outer layer with a cloth soaked in dishwashing liquid.
In the next step, you can completely clean the back cover using a disinfectant.
If the frame or back cover of your phone is made of leather, dry it using a tissue with very low humidity. Be careful that putting too much pressure can leave a stain on the cover.
In this situation, you can also use special leather cleaning materials and finally keep it shiny by using polishing solutions.
After thoroughly cleaning any case or back cover, be sure to allow it to dry before putting it back on the phone.
