Denza, the joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and BYD, recently unveiled an all-new SUV called the N8. This SUV, which sits below the Denza N7, will enter the Chinese market in all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions. In the following, we will discuss the technical specifications and other details of the mentioned SUV.
Introducing the Chinese SUV Denza N8 BYD
With a length of 4949 mm, a width of 1950 mm, a height of 1725 mm and a wheelbase of 2830 mm, Denza N8 is considered a medium to large SUV.
This BYD SUV is based on the special design language of this Chinese carmaker named π-Motion, and as a result, its exterior features fang-like headlights, a floating sloping roof with black pillars, a relatively large rear spoiler, all-round taillights, and a rear fender. The all-electric version of this SUV also has a closed front grille, but the plug-in hybrid version still has a conventional front grille.
For the cabin of the Chinese SUV Denza N8, a 15.6-inch central display, a two-spoke steering wheel with a flat lower part, a separate display behind the steering wheel, a Dynaudio audio system and a large sunroof are considered. The vents of the ventilation system also have a round design, and the crystal-shaped gear knob is located next to the two wireless smartphone charging panels in the center console in front of the driver. Even the rear passengers have access to a tray integrated with the seats and an LCD display to manage the ventilation system.
Finally, the new Denza SUV will be offered with the following engines:
- Plug-in hybrid: a 1.5-liter 138-horsepower engine and a 217-horsepower electric motor
- Plug-in hybrid: Same 1.5-liter engine with a 217-hp electric motor in the front and a 271-hp motor in the rear
- Fully electric: a 312 hp electric motor on the front axle (single differential)
- All electric: a 312 hp electric motor in the front and a 271 hp electric motor in the rear with a total output of 583 hp (two differentials)
