Aston Martin entrusts its parts supply to Geely
Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s director of development, recently stated in an interview with Autocar magazine that Geely will supply the seats and the ventilation system, or more precisely the HVAC system, for the British brand’s future cars. Geely is among the shareholders of Aston Martin and even recently increased its stake in the company to 17%. In addition to Aston Martin, Geely owns other car companies such as Lotus, Volvo, Polestar and Smart.
According to him, this is part of the approach of this car manufacturer to speed up the development process of its cars in the future. Amedeo Felisa, the CEO of Aston Martin, has also pointed out that by relying more on Geely for the supply of parts, the list of suppliers including about 300 companies will now be 30% smaller.
Apart from this, Aston Martin makes the scope of its cooperation with Mercedes-Benz even wider than before. In addition to the AMG twin-turbo V8 engine, the British automaker will also source electrical architecture and electric drive systems from Mercedes-Benz. It was also recently revealed that Aston Martin is partnering with Lucid to supply powertrain and battery technologies.
