Google may soon allow Pixel device users to choose their default music player for the Now Playing feature. According to a recent update to the feature’s support page, this change isn’t available yet, but it looks like it will be available in the near future. With this change, users can play detected songs in their favorite music app with one tap.
According to Tekna Technology News Mobile Media Service, Google is improving the Now Playing feature and plans to display album art for identified songs. But this is not the only change in the works. According to reports, Google is adding the ability to set the default music player for the feature, which will allow users to easily play detected songs in their desired app with a single tap.
Currently, to play a recognized song, users have to select it from the lock screen, notification panel, or Now Playing history, and then select one of the installed apps from the pop-up menu. This process needs to be repeated every time and it is not possible to set a default program for playing music at this time. But a new update to Google’s support page suggests that this may soon change.
