iQOO is preparing the iQOO 13 smartphone for the Chinese market. This device is expected to be unveiled in this country in November this year. This time, it looks like the company is not planning to launch the Pro model with it. Therefore, iQOO 13 is expected to include features that were supposed to be offered in the Pro model. Many of the iQOO 13 specification details have already been revealed by rumors. A whistleblower named Bald is Panda has published important information about the design of this device.
According to Tekna Technology Media’s mobile news service, iQOO 13 may have an optical strip design. According to the leaker, the upcoming iQOO 13 may have an optical strip on its back. To recall, iQOO already used the optical strip design in the first generation iQOO smartphone that was launched in 2019. The original design involved etching an optical path approximately 1 mm deep into the glass back panel, which caused the light strip to glow. This approach was quite impressive at the time, and iQOO even included additional light and shadow effects in the software to complement the light bar, enhancing its overall visual appeal.
iQOO has finally eliminated the use of optical strips in its smartphones. However, it seems that the brand is now planning to reintroduce the optical bar on the upcoming iQOO 13. This could indicate a return of the brand to its roots in high-performance and gaming-oriented smartphones. The iQOO 12 launched last year had a square camera module. It is currently unclear whether the company will use the same design on the iQOO 13 or not.
Rumors about the iQOO 13 indicate that this phone will have a flat OLED panel made by BOE with a resolution of 2K, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. Inside the device, there may be a 4th generation Snapdragon 8 chip and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 100W charging. Its triple rear camera setup may include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscopic telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The device is also expected to have an IP68 certified body, a metal middle frame and a glass back.
