A new wave of Ripple-related scams on X, formerly Twitter, has targeted cryptocurrency users. Posts promising a significant XRP airdrop have proliferated, leaving users frustrated about the platform’s ability to handle spam and malicious activity.
Crypto users took to the platform to express their frustration, with popular influencer Coach K Crypto (@Coachkcrypto) posting:
@elonmusk Why do I see 10+ of these scam posts every day and yet they don’t get banned?
Despite Elon Musk’s assurance that X has eradicated almost 90% of scams, crypto users argue otherwise. Numerous reports indicate that fraudulent activity, especially related to cryptocurrencies, has not decreased much.
Musk has previously claimed to have made “significant progress” in the platform’s ability to identify and remove malicious agents. However, users still fall victim to scams, with some tagging Mask in their complaints.

Ripple has always been a prime target for fraudsters due to the popularity of the XRP token. However, in recent months, scams have increased due to increased media attention surrounding Ripple’s legal victories and upcoming celebratory events. This improved image seems to attract more bad actors who see the hype surrounding Ripple and XRP as an opportunity to exploit unsuspecting investors.
According to reports, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently announced a gala event in New York City. The event, scheduled for September 29, is set to be a significant legal victory for Ripple against the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
