By making a small sensor, researchers have developed a new method to detect the spoilage of protein foods. This sensor can inform about this through mobile phone.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, Turkish researchers have developed a sensor for detecting the spoilage of protein foods that can check the health of ingredients such as chicken, meat and fish and send the report to a person’s phone.
The researchers’ sensor can check the health of food in real time. Also, it works wirelessly and without batteries, and it is possible to send the obtained data to a mobile phone.
In this technology, a type of polymer is used in which there are electrodes using laminate. The capacitive sensor in it can detect biogenic amines produced by protein foods. This sensor weighs only two grams and uses near field technology. Its chip can transmit data wirelessly in real time without the need for an antenna by pairing with a mobile phone.
To test this sensor, scientists used it to test the health of chicken breast and steak. Also, meat samples were checked in different conditions by this sensor. According to their announcement, this sensor was able to show acceptable performance.
