As we said, one of the notable names mentioned in the category of artificial intelligence shapers is “Ilam Tabasi”. Time writes about this Iranian researcher:
“Nearly five years ago, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) began building a program to advance the development of reliable and accountable artificial intelligence systems. It was Elham Tabasi, electrical engineer and chief of staff of the institute’s information technology laboratory, who moved the conversation about the impact of artificial intelligence from principles to practical policy implementation.

Tabasi, who was born and raised in Iran, has always dreamed of becoming a scientist. He immigrated to the United States in 1994 for his graduate studies, and five years later began working at NIST on various machine learning and computer vision projects. Earlier in his career, he was the principal architect of Fingerprint Image Quality (NFIQ) at NIST, which is now an international standard for measuring fingerprint image quality and is used by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.
