OpenAI today unveiled its artificial intelligence browser called ChatGPT Atlas. This browser is now released for Mac OS and will be available for Windows, Android and iOS in the future.
This browser is released for free, but Agent Mode, which can perform some tasks independently, is currently available as a preview only for ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers. ChatGPT in Agent Mode can more easily conduct research and analysis, perform various tasks automatically, plan events or even book tickets.
Introducing ChatGPT Atlas artificial intelligence browser capabilities
One of the best features of ChatGPT Atlas is its memory, which makes the experience of using this browser more personal and efficient. Users can view their browsing history in the browser settings section and will also have access to Incognito mode.
The memory feature can be set to not remember certain sites. It is also possible to delete the entire web browsing history or a specific part of your records.
OpenAI says the more you use Atlas, the smarter and more useful ChatGPT gets. The browser remembers what sites you have visited and you can use this background information whenever you want.

ChatGPT Atlas browser by default divides the page into two parts to make ChatGPT features available to the user as a companion along with websites. But this dual-window mode can be disabled.
OpenAI claims that this browser by default does not use user information to train its artificial intelligence. To use the ChatGPT Atlas browser, just download the app and log in to your ChatGPT account. Next, you can import your bookmarks, passwords and web browsing history from other browsers into the OpenAI browser.

OpenAI says that the design of Atlas, especially in the Agent Mode section, has been done with safety as a priority and various protection measures have been implemented to reduce possible risks. For example:
- Artificial intelligence cannot run code, download files or install plugins in the browser.
- AI cannot access other apps on your computer or system files.
- Artificial intelligence ensures that the user is monitored while working on sensitive sites such as financial institutions.
- You can use the agent even if you are not logged into your account to limit access to sensitive data.
Finally, OpenAI has announced that it will provide support for multiple profiles in a browser and better development tools in the future.
