The new version of Siri still doesn’t work well

iPhone users who are looking forward to the new version of Siri, maybe it is better not to raise their expectations. The new version of this digital assistant, which is supposed to be released early next year, apparently did not perform well in initial tests.

Ever since the introduction of Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024, iPhone users have been eagerly awaiting a new and improved Siri experience. Despite multiple delays, Apple reportedly plans to release a new version of Siri in 2026, but evidence suggests that performance may not be as impressive.

Concerns about the new version of Siri Apple

In the latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg reporter Mark German wrote:

“I strongly believe that more senior people from (Apple’s) artificial intelligence unit will leave the company soon, especially if the new Siri expected to be released this spring fails to perform well. “There have already been concerns from testers of iOS 26.4 — the version that’s supposed to include the new Siri — about the voice assistant’s performance.”

These statements indicate that even within Apple there are concerns about the quality and performance of the new Siri. This news is disappointing for users, especially since competitors like the Galaxy S25 and Pixel 10 have made significant progress in the field of artificial intelligence using Gemini.

Apple has so far delayed the release of the new Siri, and its current AI capabilities seem weak compared to the competition. Further delays could directly affect future iPhone sales. Apple even thought of buying companies like Perplexity AI or using Google’s help to save itself from this situation. Currently, many Apple Intelligence features are based on ChatGPT, and Apple’s attempt to replace it with the new Siri has not been successful yet.

Now Apple has to make a decision: Either double its resources to develop Siri in the best possible way, or let others follow suit.

Mark Garman says that although artificial intelligence is not yet the first priority of users when buying a phone, he predicts that the situation will change in the next few months and it will become a factor in the decision of customers. Therefore, Apple should think of a solution to avoid the crisis.
