The secretary of the 12th artificial intelligence battle of Sharif University of Technology stated that the registration started on 14th of Bahman and is still going on. Participants in teams of three provide code for games designed in different programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, and Go.
Stating that this is the 12th year that this event has been held, Amir Hossein Puya said: Participants in three-person teams with different programming languages such as Java, Python, C++ and Go provide code for the games that have been designed. That code is supposed to be the game’s artificial intelligence. These codes compete with each other. The winning code gets more points and advances to higher levels.
Pointing out that the registration for these competitions started on 14th of Bahman and continues, Poua said: 438 teams have been formed so far. Last year, 900 teams participated in these competitions. Most of the games are played online. The infrastructures were designed by the students of Sharif Computer Engineering Faculty. This infrastructure runs the game, then scores the codes and finally determines the winner. Most of the activities related to this event have been done by the students of the faculty and this event is completely student-run.
He added: Last year, we had participants from 20 universities, and this year teams from universities such as Amir Kabir University of Technology, Alam and Sanat, Tehran and Isfahan University of Technology have participated in this event.
About the prizes of these competitions, Puya said: The total value of the prizes is 30 million tomans, of which ten million tomans are awarded to the first team, seven million tomans to the second team and three million tomans to the third team. A total of ten million Tomans will be awarded to the rest of the teams.
In the end, the secretary of the artificial intelligence battle event, Sharif, noted: the offline phase will end by March 14, and the face-to-face phase will be held on March 22 and 23. Similar competitions are held in different countries, such as Open AI organized by Google, Battlecode organized by MIT University, and also Russian AI Cup.
