Of course, the CEO of OpenAI said because of the relevant costs, some capabilities would only be available only to Peru‘s subscribers and some new products will need to pay extra.
Altman described the move as an experiment to challenge artificial intelligence infrastructure to its power, and said, “We want to know what can be possible when we spend a lot of processing power with today’s costs of models, what can be possible.”
The Openai CEO further noted that the company’s goal is to reduce the cost of accessing artificial intelligence as much as possible and make its services more accessible to everyone. Altman said he would be sure to achieve this goal over time.
Kevin Wailee, Openai’s chief executive, had previously said that the company would use them immediately every time it gets more GPUs. “The more we have the GPUs, the more we will use artificial intelligence,” Wailee said.
Altman also said in July that the company would use more than 5 million GPUs by the end of the year. In a comparison, Ilan Musa’s XAI has announced that it uses a supercar with more than 6,000 GPUs called Colossus to train Grak 2. Other technology giants are also trying to buy GPUs to increase their processing power.
Openai is said to be pursuing its own dedicated artificial intelligence chip project, and the chip may be unveiled next year.
