A federal judge rejected an unprecedented $ 1.5 billion agreement with the authors. It was previously announced that the parties had agreed to resolve the case.
According to Bloomberg Law, Judge William Alsap apparently worried that the agreement will be forced to force the writers. It is also said that the federal judge has misled the agreement and stated that the agreement was not complete at all.

Judge Alsap also wrote that lawyers in the case have not responded to some of the most important issues, including the list of works involved in the case, a list of authors, information process to members of the group, and the alleged form that the members of the group can use to receive their share.
The anthropic plaintiffs have prosecuted artificial intelligence for using illegal versions of their work to teach large language models. There are many authors involved in this case and are expected to receive $ 6,000 for each of their work.
Judge Alsap told the lawyers that they should do very detailed information agreement to the members of the group and design a form that allow them to choose or accept it. It should also be ensured that entropics will not be prosecuted in the future because of a similar subject.
The federal judge has given the lawyers the opportunity to submit the final list of works involved in the case until September 9. He also wrote in his agenda that the list of works, group members, and the claim form must all be reviewed and approved by the court before the temporary approval. The deadline for reviewing this case is October 1.
