The opening ceremony of the 26th Elecomp International Exhibition (Elecomp 2023) was held yesterday morning on July 4, 1402 at the permanent location of Tehran International Exhibitions. In this ceremony, the Minister of Communications was closely acquainted with the achievements of the first company in the field of intelligence and digital transformation. During this visit, the self-driving robot car project of this company was also unveiled.
According to Hoshio, citing the General Department of Communications of Iran Mobile Communications Company, the 26th Elcomp International Exhibition was attended by Issa Zarepour, Minister of Communications, Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, Scientific Vice President, Seyed Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, Head of the National Center for Cyberspace, as well as guests from foreign countries such as Alexander Shutov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, was held.
Minister of Communications Issa Zarepour, on the sidelines of this exhibition, while visiting the 35th exhibition hall and Mobile First Group, got to know the tools based on the new generation technology (5G) Mobile First, while interacting with the service providers present in the fields He also specialized in “Network and Infrastructure”, “Business Solutions” and “Digital Life”.
During the presence of the Minister of Communications, the company’s “Car Robot Robot” was also unveiled at the Mobile First booth. This project has been carried out in the research and development center of the first companion and in cooperation with Shahid Beheshti University. Addressing Hamid Behrouzi, the deputy CEO of Mobile First, Zarepour requested more dedicated space to display this achievement at the national level, especially for young people.
This fully self-driving car robot, which is only one-tenth the size of a real car, despite its small and miniature size, has the ability to maintain movement between road lanes, recognize traffic signs and traffic lights, identify and move around fixed and moving obstacles, and perform maneuvers. It has automatic parking and positioning.
In order for this robot to recognize signs and road lines, technologies such as image processing and neural networks are used in its system. These technologies run on an Nvidia minicomputer and the Robot Operating System (ROS) platform. The movement of the vehicle and its response to the environment are controlled by algorithms implemented on the ESP microcontroller.
Another service that was described by the experts of the First Companion in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology was called “Container Tracking and Monitoring”. This service is designed to help prevent prohibited or harmful goods and even human trafficking from entering the country by ensuring that the contents of containers are not tampered with.
The design of this service has been aimed at solving one of the basic concerns of terminal operators, port operators, commodity owners, shipping line owners, and governance, regulatory and security institutions.
It is worth mentioning that this event, which was held with the presence of 500 domestic and foreign companies, continues until the 7th of July. The said exhibition is known as the largest information and communication technology event in the country and those interested can get to know the emerging services of the digital world while visiting this exhibition.
