Circle to Search feature is getting better day by day. Google recently added a new share button to this feature that allows users to easily share selected content with their friends. Now, in the latest update to Circle to Search, the service is offering automatic scanning of barcodes and QR codes.
Google has been working on adding barcode and QR code scanning functionality to Circle to Search for a long time. Recently, credible sources discovered evidence of the feature, and then almost a month later, a demo of the feature in action was released online. Now, according to a new post by an informed source named “Mishal Rahman” on the X social network, it seems that this feature is finally being released.
Automatic scanning of QR codes by Circle to Search
Circle to Search automatically scans barcodes and QR codes when the feature arrives on your device; When you enable this feature on any page that has a valid code, you’ll see a new window above that code that will redirect you to the relevant page.
The feature appears to be rolling out widely, so if your Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy phone supports it, you should be able to test it out today or in the coming days. You can test the feature by navigating to a web page or opening an image with a QR code and long-pressing the home button to launch Circle to Search (if you have it enabled, of course). The result window should appear automatically without having to draw a circle around the code.
Circle to Search, which is one of the features based on artificial intelligence, will be exclusive to Google and Samsung Pixel phones until October 1403. From then on, we can expect this feature to be available for phones from other Android brands.
