The current state of artificial intelligence in Iran
Eslami believes: “In some parts of Iran’s digital economy, a growing trend is observed and positive signals are received, especially in the field of artificial intelligence.” He pointed to the existence of a consensus among the elders of the country and the creation of legal infrastructure, including the formation of the Supreme Council and the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, and he hopes that regulation in this area will be carried out in such a way that the least amount of interference in the activities of the private sector is done and more to support and remove obstacles.
Eslami also points to the wide range of artificial intelligence applications and says: “This technology can be used in various fields. In the field of technology infrastructure, Ramis is highly prepared to provide the necessary infrastructure for those who move towards artificial intelligence inside Iran.
The necessity of trade unions in the field of artificial intelligence
Eslami emphasizes: “Organizational behavior is different from work behavior and it is necessary to form organized guilds in different fields of artificial intelligence. Tehran’s computer trade union system has a special commission for this issue. He believes that with the presence of these organizations, there is no need to establish new organizations. He continued: “Union behaviors must be formed in a coherent manner so that they can defend their interests.”
In response to a question about competition with large companies such as OpenAI and Google, Eslami points out the importance of international cooperation in the field of digital economy and believes that “we must break the existing sanctions and work in harmony with other world actors in this field.” He points out the importance of huge investments in this area and emphasizes: “Without the participation of the private sector, the government cannot enter this space alone.” Eslami also emphasized the need to update the national artificial intelligence document with the participation of the private sector and organizations.
Opportunities for startups
In the end, Eslami pointed out the opportunities facing startups and recommends that “startups, especially those that do not operate in the B2C field, should collaborate and partner with larger companies.” According to him, such cooperation can create many benefits for both parties and help the progress and development of startups.
