Issuing the order to form the National Steering Council and the National Artificial Intelligence Center

The National Steering Council and the National Center for Artificial Intelligence will be established by the President's order, under the scientific vice-president Ruhollah Dehghani.

In this decree of the president, the purpose of forming this council is to coordinate and synergize relevant institutions and activists in this field. In this ruling, the responsibility of setting up the “National Center for Artificial Intelligence” to achieve the goals of the ruling has been assigned to Dehghani Firouzabadi.

The goals of forming the National Steering Council and the National Artificial Intelligence Center are defined as follows:

• Creating a complete and sustainable chain of idea to wealth cycle
• Using the leap opportunity of artificial intelligence for the economic development of the country
• Planning for the creation of domestic technological infrastructures and capabilities in order to achieve scientific authority and immunity from sanctions.
• Trying to achieve a leading and stable position among the countries of the world
• Identifying, nurturing and flourishing elite human capital in the field of artificial intelligence by utilizing the capacity of the country's scientific community

This council will be chaired by the president himself or the scientific vice president as needed. The secretary of the council and the head of the National Artificial Intelligence Center are appointed by the proposal of the scientific deputy and by the decree of the president.

Other members of this council include the chief of the general staff of the armed forces, the head of the program and budget organization, the head of the administrative and recruitment organization, the ministers of security, science, health, communications, economy and defense, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the head of the fund. National Development, the Chairman of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund and two real members mentioned the proposal of the Council Secretary and the President's decree.

Government efforts to regulate artificial intelligence

This order is not the government's only attempt to regulate and guide artificial intelligence. Previously, the news of compiling a national document on artificial intelligence was published. However, the new order of the president to form a national artificial intelligence center can be a turning point in this matter.
