Over the past few years, Flannery Associates has purchased several parcels of land in the northeastern part of San Francisco in Solano Township. These lands were usually bought from the owners for much more than their real value. Now the New York Times news agency has announced the exact details of the company’s purpose for these purchases.
According to the report of the New York Times, a group of billionaires in the field of technology have started to buy the mentioned lands with the aim of creating a dedicated city for themselves. This group includes people like Marc Andreessen of Andreesen Horowitz, Reed Hoffman of LinkedIn and the founders of Stripe. Also, the name of Lauren Powell Jobs, the wife of the late Steve Jobs, is also seen in this group.
The New York Times reported in its report that the mastermind behind Flannery Associates, 36-year-old Jan Sramek, is one of the former investors of Goldman Sachs. Searching for Stermek’s name on the Internet, we come across brilliant articles about him. This successful investor became famous at the age of 20, and many people at that time called him a genius in the world of economics.
Flannery Associates announced in 2017 that it planned to buy the land divided by the freeway into rural and urban areas and turn it into a community of thousands. However, it seems that the company did not inform the residents around the mentioned lands about its purpose, and in fact the local congress of the area was also unaware of this issue.
Flannery Associates submitted its application for the construction of the township to the relevant authorities last week and now plans to share its plans with them. It is said that most of the land purchased by this company is of agricultural type and this was the main reason why Flannery Associates tried to communicate with the local authorities. It is said that the company will try to convince local officials with the promise of creating jobs, housing and public space, but it is not yet clear whether the plan will be successfully completed.
