It seems that Huawei is once again preparing for something big. According to new revelations, the Chinese tech giant is developing a smartphone with two 200MP cameras, a combination that could set a new standard in mobile photography. If this information is true, this device will be the first phone in the world with such a feature and it will probably be launched on the market sooner than expected.
Information published by a reliable leaker, Digital Chat Station, on the Weibo platform shows that a smartphone with a dual 200MP camera is being tested. Although Huawei’s name is not directly mentioned in the post, the use of an emoji commonly associated with the Huawei brand is seen as a subtle but meaningful sign.
The device in question will most likely be the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra, the successor to the Pura 80 Ultra model, which was introduced in June 2025 (June 1404) with a 50-megapixel 1-inch main sensor and exclusive XMAGE image processing, and was considered one of the most powerful photography flagships of the year. If this information is true, the new flagship of the Pura series could offer a new level of imaging capabilities.
Interestingly, another source on Weibo mentioned that both the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Plus and Pura 90 Ultra models are being tested with this structure. If this news is true, these will be the first Huawei phones to cross the 200 megapixel mark, an achievement that none of the competitors, including Samsung and other Chinese brands, have yet achieved.
Currently, the official release date of this phone has not been determined, but according to the pattern of Huawei’s previous introductions, it is expected to be unveiled in the middle of 2026 (summer 1405).
