OnePlus announced a few months ago that it will release its new foldable phone later this fall. So far, many images and teasers of this phone have been revealed, but not much information about it was available.
Now the SmartPrix website has reported that the upcoming OnePlus foldable phone will arrive at the end of August. The name of this phone will not be OnePlus Fold or Flip, but it will be called OnePlus Open, and it will be presented a few weeks after the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
The SmartPrix website said more precisely that the launch date of OnePlus Open is planned for August 29. But he did not say that this date is related to the introduction of the phone or its release. Anyway, it is expected that OnePlus will finally fulfill its promise on this date.
According to the rumors, this phone will use a 6.5-inch 1080p HD 120Hz external display and will have a synthetic leather on its back panel, which will surround the large triple camera system. This system will include a 50 megapixel main camera, a periscope camera and several other cameras.
Also, its internal display will be an 8-inch Quad-HD (120 Hz) panel with a durable hinge mechanism. OnePlus Open will be handled by Snapdragon 8 generation 2 chip and a 4800 mAh battery with 80W fast charging technology will provide it with energy.
OnePlus Open should compete with Google’s Pixel Fold and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 after its introduction. Its price will probably be in the range of 1200 dollars.
