Handheld game consoles are booming thanks to AMD’s powerful Ryzen 7000 series processors. Previously, brands such as One-netbook and Aya Neo have released new consoles with these processors, and now GPD plans to update its Win 4 console with these chips.
The company has announced the price of its new generation of handheld consoles before the start of the IndieGoGo campaign. This device will be presented in two different versions. The first version will be equipped with the Ryzen 5 7640U processor, but the more powerful version will use the Ryzen 7 7840U processor. Both of these chips have Zen 4 cores and iGPU graphics based on the RDNA 3 architecture.
The new Win 4 console will have a 6-inch FHD display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a pixel density of 368 PPI. The console has a sliding Qwerty keyboard with backlit keys. This console also has two AAC speakers, Windows 11 operating system, microSD card slot and 4G LTE SIM card support. This console supports Wi-Fi 6, USB4 port and PCIe Gen4 port. According to GPD, the Win 4 console will be released on July 17, 2023.
