Apple is working on a new version of Siri that will be based on a powerful large-scale language model (LLM).
Details
According to Mark Gorman of Bloomberg, this innovation will be part of iOS 19 and macOS 16, which will be introduced next year.
The new version of LLM Siri is currently being tested separately, but will replace the current user interface in the future. This platform will be launched in 2026. The updated version of Siri will rely on Apple’s new AI models, similar to Google’s ChatGPT and Gemini, allowing for more natural interactions with users.
The system will also support App Intents, which provides finer control over third-party applications. Siri will be able to write, summarize texts and perform other tasks. For iOS 18.2, Apple is preparing an integration with ChatGPT, and future updates will allow Siri to better understand user contexts.
