Apple is apparently testing a new camera button for the iPhone 16 series, which will be placed on the right side and will be very useful when shooting in landscape mode.
Previously, the MacRumors website had published a report about this button and said that this button will be of capacitive type and will simulate pressure through vibration. Now The Information website claims that this button will be similar to a mechanical button but will also have a capacitive feature that will make it sensitive to touch and pressure.
According to The Information, users can slide their finger to the right or left side of this button to control the camera zoom, or they can press the button slightly to adjust the focus. Of course, both websites said that Apple will use this button in all models of the iPhone 16 series.
If this button is added, we will see the second button added to the iPhone in the last few years. Last year, Apple added the action button to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. This button is actually a general purpose shortcut button.
Apple wouldn't be the first company to add a camera button to its phones. Sony has been using such a button on its Xperia phones for years.
