Thursday’s spacewalk on the International Space Station was canceled due to a coolant leak in the Nauka module’s support radiator, NASA said.
The leak, which happened earlier this week, has apparently been stopped. The leak was reported by the Russian space agency and later confirmed by the space station’s external cameras.
Now NASA has said that the radiator continues to work and none of the crew of the space station as well as its facilities are in danger.
A similar thing happened last year in the International Space Station. The first was in December, when the crew capsule carrying two Russian and one American astronauts to Earth became unsafe.
This caused a new capsule to be sent to return the astronauts, and the three astronauts had to stay in orbit for a full year, six months longer than planned. A similar incident happened in January.
Now, another leak in the space station has caused the cancellation of the spacewalk that was supposed to be held on Thursday.
NASA is supposed to announce a new date for this space walk after the end of its investigations.
