Qualcomm unveiled the 2nd generation Snapdragon 7s chip. The chip is made with 4nm technology and is expected to be a cheaper alternative to Snapdragon 8 chips.
The 7s chip is less powerful compared to other Snapdragon 7 processors, and its ISP isn’t that great either. According to some rumors, this chip will probably be used in the Redmi Note 13 series that is going to be introduced this month.
This chip is a mid-range 4nm platform, and instead of introducing the first generation 7s or the second generation Snapdragon 7, Qualcomm went directly to it. This processor has four performance cores with a frequency of 2.4 GHz and four low-power cores with a frequency of 1.95 GHz.
The Snapdragon 7s 2nd generation GPU is an Adreno type that supports FHD+ resolution and a 144 Hz rate. The chip supports FastConnect 6700, which is slightly lower than the 6900 in the Snapdragon 7 Plus 2nd generation, and has a maximum download speed of 2.9 Gbps. This chip also supports Bluetooth 5.2.
Snapdragon 7s 2nd generation supports a camera up to 200 megapixels with the ability to record 4K video at 30 frames per second, LPDRR5 memories with a frequency of 3200 MHz, as well as USB-C 3.1 and Quick Charge 4+.
Qualcomm has not officially announced the release date.
