According to RCO News Agency, quoted from Tehran University, the researchers in this field research, supervised by Mehdi Ghorbani, professor Schools Agriculture and Natural Resources of Tehran University, in order to take advantage of local knowledge and local initiatives for sustainable water management; Using survey methods of direct observation, participatory and in-depth interviews with a number of 173 expert users, they analyzed the social system, local initiatives and types of assistance, and the results of this research show that the use of local ecological knowledge is a sustainable solution for water management in the dry southern region of the country.

Also, the results of the research show that water management in dry areas is not possible only through modern technologies; Rather, we should take advantage of the collective wisdom and local mechanisms that are the result of centuries of trial and error and the interaction of local people with the surrounding environment. Revival of indigenous knowledge of water management will strengthen the social and cultural capital of the region in addition to the sustainability of water resources.

In the end, the researchers of this research focused on the revival and updating of native structures with the participation of the government and local communities; recording and documenting local knowledge to prevent forgetting this knowledge and transfer it to the younger generation and water resource managers; creating a collaborative environment between the government and local water experts; The integration of indigenous knowledge and official knowledge appropriate to the socio-ecological conditions of the target areas, empowerment of local institutions and strengthening of social systems related to water have been emphasized. These recommendations are presented in order to strengthen the local governance system of water resources and integrate it with the national macro policies.
