A delegation of Baghdad University administrators met with the head of the Tehran University Presidential Office with a group of members of the University of Tehran.
According to RCO News Agency, Dr. Seyyed Hossein Hosseini, head of Tehran University and Dr. Soheil, Vice President of Science at Baghdad University, addressed the capacities of cooperation and operationalization strategies for the two universities.
At the meeting, Dr. Hosseini welcomed the Iraqi delegation in the introduction of the University of Tehran and said: Tehran University is the largest and oldest modern university in Iran with 5 years, although higher education in Iran is older. The university also covers almost all academic disciplines, with the exception of medical sciences, and has many specialists in modern sciences such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, biology and artificial intelligence.
The head of the University of Tehran, referring to previous meetings between the authorities of the two universities, said: “A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two universities, which requires a review. Busings such as the sister -in -law of the two universities, the exchange of professors and the students, the study opportunities, the joint courses, and the cooperation of the specialists can be considered to achieve the goals of this memorandum. But the key to implementing agreements and advancing the relationship between the two universities, the direct relationship of colleges with each other, and the professors’ awareness of the capacities in this collaboration.
Dr. Hosseini also emphasized the shared issues of the two countries that result from neighborhood, saying that solving common problems such as microbes, droughts and climate change requires scientific and academic study and can be solved through academic cooperation between the two countries.
Dr. Soheil, Vice President of Science at Baghdad University, praised the University of Tehran: “Tehran University does not need to be introduced; Because it is well known in the area.
He also spoke about the Iraqi Ministry of Science’s program to attract international students: In line with this program, we have attracted 5 students from different countries in the last academic year and would like to attract Iranian students, especially in doctoral and postgraduate courses. These courses are held in English and Arabic and some lack tuition.
In response to Dr. Hosseini’s suggestion to review and operate the two universities, the University of Baghdad said: “The University of Baghdad welcomes the update of this agreement and is ready to set up and implement a new text.
Following the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Kamrai, Vice President of Education, Dr. Manouchehr Moradi Sabzevar, Deputy Head of Research and Dr. Elham Aminzadeh, Vice President of International University of Tehran, as well as heads of the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Agriculture of Baghdad University, discussed the capacity of the two universities.
