Akhundzadeh stated that the winners of the festival should not be people who give the wrong signal and message to the country’s young researchers, and said: As a university professor, if I see a student who has, for example, 80 articles, I do not see it as a good thing. A student in the lower education level cannot have 80 articles.
He added: “If I choose these people, I will send a wrong message to the community of young researchers.” This is not a researcher who can be introduced as the chosen researcher of Razi Festival.

Akhundzadeh said about adjusting the score of GBD articles in the Razi Festival: We divide the number of citations of this article by the number of authors of the article. Provided that the person is not the first author or the responsible author of that article.
Research is disarmed without funding
In response to a reporter’s question about the scientific rank of the country, he said: In the sixth and seventh development plans, it was stated that we should rank first in the region. We were ranked first in the region until 2021, but in the last 2-3 years, because we allocated less resources to this area, we suffered a drop in rank.
