According to RCO News Agency, citing Akiweather, this October will probably provide a rare chance to observe the comet, and some photographers have already recorded images of comet C/2023 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) in the morning sky. The mentioned comet was observed on September 28 near the village of Aguas Blancas in Uruguay.
In the second week of this month (October), the Draconid meteor shower will begin, which is the first since mid-August 2024.
In the Draconid meteor shower, thousands of meteors light up the sky. Of course, this year’s Draconid meteor shower is likely to be smaller, and on the night of October 7 this year and the early hours of Tuesday, October 8, 2025, about 10 meteors per hour will be observed in the sky.
In addition to that, the first full moon of autumn this year will be a super moon that will light up the night sky on October 17 and 18. This is the third of 4 consecutive supermoons in 2024. During this event, the moon is brighter and larger than a normal full moon.
On the other hand, the Orionids meteor shower occurs every year in the middle of October, but this year this event is much more limited. Normally, during this meteor shower, 20 comets can be seen every hour. But according to the American Meteor Society, in 2024, the full moon will affect the outlook of this astronomical event that will take place on the night of October 20.
People can observe a few comets in the night sky, especially after midnight local time. Experts have advised people to focus on the dark areas of the sky where the moon cannot be seen for a better observation of this event.
