Researchers have developed a tiny tool that can identify the best treatment for brain cancer.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, the researchers’ new device is only the size of a grain of rice and is able to perform 20 types of treatment at the same time to determine the best type of treatment for brain cancer such as glioma. This tool is placed inside the brain during surgery and then detects the effects of drugs in a small area of the brain. By removing the limitations related to current drug testing methods, in addition to identifying the right drug and personalizing it for the patient, it will be done correctly. Currently, this tool is in the stage of clinical trials and so far no severe side effects have been observed as a result of its use.
When this disease occurs, surgeons need to know the effect of different drugs as soon as possible. Therefore, by choosing the best possible drug for each patient, the best result can be achieved. Currently, current methods cannot be fast enough and are not suitable for testing a variety of drugs. But the new tool can use the brain of each patient as a small laboratory in addition to high efficiency.
