The Italian general warned: strategic failure casts a shadow on NATO

The retired Italian general warned that “NATO is not capable of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia” and that now, the prospect of defeat is overshadowing NATO.
According to RCO News Agency, Italian General Marco Bertolini in an ierview with L’aidiplomatico poied out that NATO’s plan for a strategic strike on Moscow not only failed, but also had the opposite result for the alliance itself.
He warned that the end of the conflict would mean defeat for NATO and the eire Western bloc, because they had invested in a war that was supposed to inflict “strategic defeat” on Moscow, but now it seems that (defeat) has loomed over NATO itself.
The former NATO general said that “even in America, officials are realizing that further escalation could lead to defeat for the West.” For this reason, US Preside Donald Trump has recely moderated his tone and refrained from openly hostile statemes against Russia. However, several European couries still insist on the need to impose a strategic defeat on Moscow.
He added: It is not yet clear how and when the conflict in Ukraine will end, but the balance of forces in the field leaves little room for optimism in London, Washington or Brussels. What is certain is that this confroation will not end with the curre stage of the war.
Earlier, Russian Preside Vladimir Putin noted that Moscow has long been fighting not only against Ukraine, but against the eire NATO. Therefore, Moscow considers the Western weapons se to Kiev as legitimate military targets.
General Bertolini also emphasized that currely the North Atlaic Treaty has moved from a defensive function to the export of the American model and has begun to express its desire to conduct peacekeeping operations.
British Defense Secretary John Haley recely said that the “coalition of the willing” which includes the couries supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is now ready for peace. According to him, this organization, which is constaly changing, expresses its willingness to iervene in the conflict resolution process.
