Microsoft has added a new feature to the Bing chatbot that allows users to change its personality or tone. Currently, there are three modes for this chatbot: Creative, Balanced and Precise.
As you can guess from the names of the characters, in Creative mode we are faced with creative, original and even imaginary answers. In the detailed mode, however, more accurate, realistic and concise answers are provided to users.
Microsoft has defaulted the chatbot to a balanced personality, hoping to strike a balance between creativity and accuracy in its responses. These characters are now available to all new Bing users and apparently 90% of them already have access to the new characters. Of course, as you know, the new Bing is not available to all users and they have registered for faster access, Microsoft has provided them with its AI-based chatbot.
Microsoft allays concerns about Bing’s chatbot with new characters
In the early days when the new Bing was available to users, users sometimes faced strange responses, and for example, this Microsoft tool compared one of the journalists to Hitler. These things made Redmondi decide to limit the functionality of this chatbot. But apparently with the new characters, the company has less to worry about such backlash from the new Bing.
Microsoft wanted to prevent long chats with the new Bing with restrictions, but these restrictions made the chatbot unable to talk to users at times. However, Redmondi improved its performance by releasing an update a few days ago.
But now users can not only talk to Microsoft’s chatbot, but also have the opportunity to try out different characters.
Microsoft wants users to be as new to Bing as possible, so it recently added a Bing Chat icon to the taskbar with a major update for Windows 11. In addition, the new Bing has been added to the Skype program.
